Owners, not operators
We are not the ones on the tools, and we are not trying to be. In most businesses we look at, the owner is the single point of failure — every decision, every relationship, every password. What we put in is the replacement for that: systems, documented process, technology, and a team who do the work. Once those are in, the business runs without any one person at the centre of it. Nothing here is a new idea. It is the same four habits applied consistently across every business we take on.
Controls first, not after
A certified risk and internal-controls professional leads finance across every business. Books are kept to a standard that survives outside scrutiny, because they were built to.
Cash flow over stories
We buy and build businesses that make money now, in sectors that hold up when conditions turn. No turnarounds, no bets on a trend arriving.
Back office in house
Accounting, payroll, compliance, HR, and software are shared functions run by our own team. An acquired business inherits infrastructure it could not afford alone.
A long hold, not a quick flip
We hold for the long term — typically seven to eight years — and spend that time building the business rather than dressing it up. When we do eventually sell, it should be worth more because it runs better.
